I started out the same way we all start out in dogs; finding the one dog (or more appropriately, the one finding us) that simply change our heart and soul forever. Maple waltzed into my life right after I had just lost my mother to cancer when I was twelve years old. Our bond was instant and ran incredibly deep, and I found myself looking for things we could do together. Soon I found dog shows and the rest, as they say, was history...
Maplecove has been active since 1999 when I first got into the dog show world. Since then I have been incredibly fortunate to find mentors both in and out of Shelties who never hesitated to share their knowledge with me. I am honored to carry the torch of those breeders who's hard work are present in the pedigrees of my dogs today.
As a preservation breeder, I strive to produce those beautiful faces and wonderfully sweet personalities that the Sheltie is known for. I have devoted my life to raising and showing these wonderful dogs, but do not take that lightly. I am constantly researching pedigrees, studying temperaments, and performing the latest health tests to ensure each new generation is an improvement over the last.
I find myself very thankful for both the dogs, and the people they have brought into my life. I cherish so many friendships with my puppy buyers, and love seeing both them and their dogs when they come to visit.
The other half of my life is dedicated to running my graphic design and photography business, Showtime Design (naturally - its tied to the dogs)! Back in college when I should have been studying Psychology and Philosophy, I spent a lot of my time building websites, designing ads and building my portfolio. Soon after my work caught on like wildfire, and I have been doing PR and photography for some of the top dogs in the world ever since. I never got into it for the money, but to simply do what I love every day of my life. The fact that it has exceeded every expectation, and provided me with some lasting friendships has been a dream come true.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and please do not hesitate to contact me. I love hearing from my visitors!
